Abstract:

Under the brightest full moon of the year is the Korean celebration of their first harvest of the year, Chuseok. Though few are farmers now, all will celebrate and carry forth this tradition in honor and remembrance of their modest roots. In the past this was a celebration that gathered the whole town, in modern day celebration you will see most traveling back home to pay respect to their elders and family. They will be met by festive food, games and performances. Observance of this celebration is three days, more than any other holidays, indicative of the importance of Chuseok.
